Why cell phone baiting?
The basis for ethical and successful hunting is the prior, appropriate and committed game management. When hunting wild boar, this knowledge inevitably leads to the issue of baiting. Where wild boars are present in the area, the installation and continuous operation of baiting stations is essential. On the one hand, these enable selective and therefore ethical and gentle hunting of wild boar. On the other hand, as distractions in areas with massive game damage, they help to keep wild boar away from the damaged areas without excessive (night-time) hunting. In addition, they are indispensable instruments for obtaining an overview of the wild boar population in your own area, whether as part of structured monitoring or just by making a rough numerical assessment of the population based on game camera recordings. However, the successful operation of a baiting station always requires the regular provision of baiting material and this within the framework of legal requirements. The result is an enormous number of trips to the baiting stations, which, in addition to the ecological and economic consequences, above all create great unrest in the area and thus have a lasting impact on game and the environment. The fact that nowadays there is often not enough time for this rather tedious task makes things even more difficult. Having grown up on a farm in our local hunting grounds, we wanted to use the advantages of modern mobile communications technology (“IoT” - internet of things) to be able to bait better, more economically, more environmentally friendly, more time-saving and, above all, more quietly than no hunter has ever done before. Over time, adventurous prototypes became a mature product that has enjoyed great popularity among our customers since its launch!
