Are automatic bait machines allowed?
The legal admissibility of using automatic feeding stations such as mobile feeding stations depends on the respective state regulations. In addition, the general regulations on feeding stations must be observed (quantity, number of feeding stations, etc.). These can be met with mobile feeding stations, as in conjunction with a game camera it allows for targeted feeding after the feeding station has actually been eaten by the game. In addition, the central ejection of the feeding station in conjunction with the feeding station funnel makes it possible to place the feeding station in a way that is only accessible to wild boar. Both are required by law in most states.
Below we have summarized the legal situation in the individual federal states with links to the relevant laws and regulations:

Saxony-Anhalt
In case of doubt, placing a mobile phone in a cage is not permitted (however, a reduction in capacity is conceivable, and then permitted)
"Simple mechanical devices" ( LJV Sachsen-Anhalt refers to automatic feeders) may have a maximum capacity of 5 kg. However, this may refer to bait barrels and similar forms of presentation, i.e. 5 kg as a limit on the amount of bait that can be taken in at one time.
Schleswig-Holstein
Mobile phone baiting permitted
"Occasional luring" is permitted; bait must not be accessible to other game ( bait funnel )
Thuringia
Mobile phone baiting permitted
Bait material may only be presented again if the previously presented bait material has been completely consumed by the game; a maximum of 1 kg of grain may be presented at a time; technical equipment is permitted if it is suitable for limiting the amount of bait accordingly
Feeding game is different from baiting. The mobile bait can also be used as an automatic feeder. In most federal states, feeding is only permitted in times of emergency and under special conditions. The use of the mobile bait for feeding is therefore subject to strict regulations, which should be checked in the respective federal state.
